Today, Intellectual Ventures filed patent infringement complaints against three DSL providers in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. The complaints were filed against AT&T, CenturyLink, and Windstream Communications.
Intellectual Ventures previously filed suit against AT&T and other wireless service providers in February of 2012.
IV’s Chief Litigation Counsel Melissa Finocchio provided the following statement:
“AT&T, CenturyLink and Windstream Communications are infringing IV patents that cover fundamental and important aspects of DSL technology and services. While our primary objective is to enter license agreements, we will enforce our rights when necessary.
IV has invested billions of dollars to build a portfolio of patent assets. Given our substantial investment, and our obligation to IV’s investors and licensees, we will pursue litigation when necessary to ensure our invention rights are respected.”
