At Intellectual Ventures we believe that ideas are valuable, and that intellectual property can help put great ideas to work. That’s why we’re proud to join the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) today in celebrating World Intellectual Property Day. Established by the WIPO in 2000, World Intellectual Property Day celebrates “innovation and creativity, and how intellectual property fosters and encourages them.”

This year, World IP Day focuses on the theme of “visionary innovators,” whose discoveries, inventions and life’s works have left a lasting impact, and fundamentally affected the way we live our lives – scientists and artists like Marie Curie, Louis Pasteur and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

In the words of Steve Jobs, they “put a dent in the universe.”

You can read more about these visionaries and their impact in a special message from WIPO Director General Francis Gurry. Then head to the World IP Day site to learn more about IP Day activities and events in your area.
