Technium and Intellectual Ventures Collaborate to Create Venture Backed Startups

The Invention Science Fund (ISF) Incubator, the new startup arm at Intellectual Ventures, and Utah-based Technium announced today a strategic relationship to accelerate the creation of high-impact technology startup companies. This collaboration creates a process for ISF Incubator and Technium to select, screen and validate technologies and entrepreneurs to accelerate the launch of new VC fundable companies.

Under the program, Technium’s network of world class entrepreneurs can select from a vast library of inventions to propose a potential high growth business. After review, using Technium’s proprietary methodologies, entrepreneurs receive financial support and mentorship as they lead ISF Incubator’s new startup.

“Intellectual Ventures has launched more than a dozen new businesses which have, collectively, raised more than $700 million in VC funding and we are looking to bring more of our inventions to the marketplace through the creation of new start-up companies,” said Conrad Burke, Vice President of New Ventures at ISF Incubator. “Working with Technium allows us to quickly recruit qualified entrepreneurs, connect them with our technology, and set them on a path toward success.”

The initial projects involve disruptive inventions in technology areas including power control management, voice recognition security, medical devices, secure charging systems and new food processing methods.

“From our very first meeting we knew we had the potential to create a unique model for the creation of venture backed companies,” says Brian Cummings, CEO of Technium. “The first time we peered into ISF’s wealth of inventions we felt like kids in a candy store; it was like we were built for this role.”

“The collaboration between Technium and ISF Incubator allows us to offer entrepreneurs an accelerator model unlike any other.” says Jonathan Van, COO of Technium. “We believe this partnership will become the gold standard in how to scale up commercialization and startup efforts.”
